Description
The Little Elves and Fairies Woodland Nursery

“The Little Elves and Fairies Woodland Nursery”, based at Sturts Farm in West Moors, is part of the long established “Elves and Fairies Woodland Nursery” in Edmondsham. Our relatively new nursery for babies and young children under 3 is expanding to take children from 2 to 6 years of age at our new Forest School site.

Set in a beautiful working farm environment which supports adults with additional learning needs, our nursery and Forest School aims to bring out the creative and imaginative side of the children in our care and to inspire a sense of wonder and reverence for nature through our holistic, friendly and nurturing approach. We believe that the closer to nature the children are the more they will gain in later years. Groups are kept small with a maximum of 12 children at any one time, which allows staff the chance to better meet the children's individual needs and enabling the children to build close, trusting relationships with both staff and their young peers. This, together with being able to play imaginatively and creatively in a safe, natural environment, allows the children to grow in confidence and develop positive self esteem, which in turn, will lead to confidence and independence as they grow up.

If you have lots of energy, love both a cozy, homely nursery environment and have a love for the outdoors, this may be the job for you. We are looking for a full time Manager and a part time practitioner to work year round in our Forest School, for children from 2 to 6, starting in September 2024. We are also looking for bank staff, to start as soon as possible, to cover both this setting and our original outdoor nursery setting in Edmondsham. We would like applicants to be confident and experienced in leading the EYFS, with at least a Level 3 qualification and also to be experienced Forest School practitioners. Enthusiasm, cheerfulness, patience, strength, stamina and willingness to learn are an absolute necessity.

Nursery and Forest School sessions run for 50 weeks of the year and staff are expected to work from 8am – 5pm. It is hoped that suitable applicants would also be able to provide cover at our outdoor nursery site in Edmondsham as and when necessary, if time allows, during term time sessions and also during “Adventure in the Woods” holiday sessions.

If interested, please send a copy of your CV and a covering letter telling us about yourself, to
little-elves@edmondshamforestschool.co.uk by April 30th 2024.
