Skills, Qualities and (desired) Qualifications:

- Enthusiasm for working with young children.
- A kind and caring attitude to both children and adults.
- A positive approach to inclusive practice with children and other team members.
- Previous experience of caring for or working with children aged 0-5 years in a paid capacity.
- A commitment to the provision of high-quality childcare.
- A commitment to being a ‘team player’ (even when the ‘going gets tough’).
- Completion of a recognised childcare qualification to a minimum of Level 3 and a positive approach to gaining further training.
- An understanding of the importance of safeguarding, health and safety and food hygiene in the workplace, and a willingness to attend training courses in these areas.
- An up to date Paediatric First Aid course, or willingness to attend such course.
- An understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
- A positive approach to learning and gaining new skills through teamwork and on-going training opportunities.
- Good written and verbal skills for observations and planning for key children, and excellent communication skills with children, team members and parents and carers.
- Good organisational, record keeping and planning skills.
- Punctuality, patience, reliability and trustworthiness.
- Flexibility; from time to time you may be required to attend team meetings, open days or parent’s evenings that are held out of normal working hours.
