Role Profile: Pre-school Deputy Manager
Team: Christ Church Little Oaks Pre-School
Reports To: Pre-school Manager
PURPOSE
To work as the Deputy Manager and as a key worker and as part of the Pre – school team under the direction of the Pre - school Manager to provide safe, high quality education and care for young children.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• To recognise and work within the Christian values of Christ Church.
• Main Duties:
• To liaise with the Management Committee in the Manager’s absence.
• To help set up the preschool for the daily programme and to help tidy away at the end of each session.
• To act as a keyworker to a small group of children, liaising closely with the
Manager and ensuring each child’s needs are recognised and met.
• To advise the Pre – school Manager of any concerns eg. over children, parents or the safety of equipment, preserving confidentiality as necessary.
• To promote children’s development offering an appropriate level of support and stimulation.
• To take on the role of the Manager if the Manager is absent.
• To attend staff meetings.
• To attend training courses and additional meetings as required.
• To assist the manager in drawing up long term, medium term and sessional curriculum plans.
• To oversee the registering of the children on arrival, the receiving and disbursement of monies from parents, the petty cash and the writing up of the cash book.
• To keep completely confidential any information regarding the children, their families or other staff which is learned as part of the job.
• To be aware of and work within the current Christ Church policies and procedures.
• To be aware of and work within the requirements and guidelines as detailed in the Safeguarding Document. Ensure that all the team comply with current regulations.
• If abuse is suspected or disclosed follow required Safeguarding procedures in conjunction with Designated Safeguarding lead and ordained minister, informing line manger appropriately.
• To be the link with The Christ Church Health & Safety Officer and report any incidents.
• To be Deputy Safeguarding Lead and undertake main lead/role of SEND.
• To attend Safeguarding training every 3 years.

As an administrator:
• To be responsible for the intake of new children.
• Keep the waiting list for potential new children updated and keep the Manager informed of any changes.
• To write letters confirming start dates, that the Prospectus and Child information Sheets are sent, agreed and returned and ensure the Policies are available to view.
• Renew the Daily Register when needed
• To chart key worker groups and assist Manager when allocating new children to their key worker group.
• To complete the Government Funding claims.
• To oversee financial administration with the manager
• To assist the Manager in updating the Prospectus.
• To be responsible for issuing up to date invoices for non-funded hours.
