Apprentice job description – For the candidate to learn the fundamentals of how to become an Early years practitioner, gain experience in all areas within the nursery setting.

• To support the team in the setting
• Gain experience in a busy nursery
• Look after children and support them in the daily routine
• Learn and adhere to the legal and statutory requirements

• Learn how to have positive relationships with families, carers, children, the team and outside agencies and the community
• Work with professionals
• Learn to work with the Early Years Foundation Stage
• Learn how to observe, monitor progress and help develop children in their next steps
• To learn to complete paperwork to a high standard
• Learn to assist in the day to day expectations of a nursery
• Work towards a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification, complete coursework and work-based assessments on time
• Learn how to safeguard yourself, the setting, children, families and your team
• Learn to respond appropriately to incidents and accidents and the use of first aid
• Follow guidance from leaders and management team
• Attend courses as part of your continuous professional development
• Adhere to all policies and procedures;
