Childminding briefing sessions
provide an overview of becoming a childminder and the registration process. You
can only attend a session within the local authority area you live within. This
is a good time to consider childminding as there are currently government start-up grants available. These will be explained during the briefing sessions.
If you live in the Dorset Council area and are interested in
becoming a childminder, you can attend a group briefing session. Please see
below for list of dates, timings and venues. The sessions are free.
The sessions cover all aspects of becoming a childminder.
Once you have registered with Ofsted the Early Years Support and Advisor
officer within your locality will be in touch to carry out a pre-registration
visit within your home. Fact sheets and step by step information on the process
of becoming a registered childminder will be given out during the sessions.
Please note: these childminding briefing sessions are only
available to Dorset Council residents.
